Evie has been impatient since the day she was born. She was born February 21st, when her due date wasn't until mid March.
When she was a baby we use to play soothing music in her bedroom in the basement to help sooth the savage beast. Many nights when mom was working dad would have to give her the attention she demanded. He got creative though, and pulled out the stroller and rolled her around the basement.
She was ~ 2, she had just started this crinkling of her nose. This didn't last very long but was really funny. We have picture that were taken at walmart in her purple dress with red shoes.
When she was late 2's early 3's, she developed a LOVE for Tom and Jerry. Now, you have to picture her at that age. She is this adorable blond blue eyed princess in training! So girly...her dad and I were upstairs in our room one morning that she had gotten up and found Tom and Jerry on the TV. It wasn't long after the show came on that we heard this really deep "huh huh huh" coming from down stairs. Joe and I both looked at each other with questioning glances....we waited a few minutes more and it cam again, "huh huh huh" it was a full belly laugh that was coming out of her! It was like nothing we had ever heard before! She would do it a few times more, and on occasion we still find her laughing very similarly...always to Tom and Jerry.
More recent activity...
For her 7th birthday, we asked her what she wanted to eat for the day. Usually I will make them whatever they want and we go out to eat for one of the meals. I had asked her what she would like to eat and she told me that she wanted peanut butter and jelly. I told her she would have whatever she wanted....she was still committed to the PB&J. Finally she decided that she would like to go out for pancakes at IHOP. We ended up eating breakfast and then she decided to go bowling. At the end of the day after the cake, presents, and activities. She told me that it was the best day of her life!
Christmas 2010. She was 7, and as she is getting older she is starting to question the magic of Christmas. Asking about Santa, and saying that her friends say he isn't real. She asked her mom if she still believed, the answers was yes, and that the moment you stop believe is the moment he isn't real. Luckily Santa knew all about her struggles. Santa had prepared a nice letter to her and apologized to her as he had to bring Dasher into the house for some water. That dang reindeer had brought in some food that must have been on him and made a huge mess in front of the fireplace. Needless to say when Evie talked to her family over the course of the day, regardless of all the great presents she received, she wanted to tell everyone about her Santa experience more than anything. It made her whole day. She was so excited, she had to rush down there and get her letter out of her stocking before she was "allowed" to go downstairs. It was a very exciting morning.
